Many dogs like the sweet taste and crunchiness of carrots. It is a welcome change to their normally bland diet. Puppies can also have them, too. In fact, frozen carrots can be given to puppies that are teething to help ease the pain and discomfort.
Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, a type of carotenoid, which is an excellent antioxidant. Beta-carotene is also a precursor of vitamin A.
Munching on carrots can help prevent constipation in dogs because they are rich in soluble fiber. Fiber helps promote digestive health by increasing bulk and water in the contents of the intestines. Make sure that your dog has easy access to plenty of fresh water while you’re giving fiber in his diet. Also, take note that fiber should be added gradually into your Pets Health diet, otherwise, they can suffer from gassiness and an upset stomach.
