Feeding Pet Cats

Whatever age your kitty may be, they will require a balanced diet that is appropriate for their lifestage and lifestyle. Compared to the diet of dogs, cats require a diet that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. It should also be formulated to contain the correct amount of fats, minerals, and vitamins. Optimum nutrition is very important in boosting the body’s immune system so the cat can fight off illness and infection.

In the wild, cats thrive by hunting; they spend many hours of the day hunting and capturing prey. Indeed, their daily routine entails time and energy.

But living with people has made cats become used to eating at least twice a day. They become totally dependent on their owners for their food and sustenance. As a result, they are able to experience less stimulation and activity that is normally associated with hunting and eating. Visit your Pet Care vet to learn more.
